Description
When the soil under the stables was removed in the course of the conversion of the economy building into a hotel wing, the architect discovered remains of foundations. They turned out to be the foundation walls of a house that must have been built in Carolingian times, i.e. around the same time as the nearby monastery of St. John. This means that people have lived on the site of today's Hotel Chasa Chalavaina for 1200 years. A remarkable piece of history.
