Particularly noteworthy is the mild climate with little precipitation and the proximity to the Swiss National Park. In the immediate vicinity of our house is the monastery of St. John, which was built by Charlemagne in the 8th century. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its world-famous Carolingian murals!
