Description

A hike through the typical mixed forest of the Ofenpass area, with forest pines, mountain pines, spruces and larches. From the Ofenpass road, the path leads past the Ova Spin equalising basin to the Margun Grimmels clearing. On the way, impressive browsing forms of spruce and mountain pine can be discovered, which show the richness of the region's game.

Directions

The hike begins at car park 3 and the post bus stop Vallun Chafuol (P3) (1766 m a.s.l.) on the Ofenpass road. After the bus stop, the trail descends towards Spöl, and at the first fork leads to the right through a larch-mountain pine forest with individual Engadine pines. The route descends towards the Ova Spin equalisation basin and follows the water for a few hundred metres. Then it goes up again, over the small Margun Grimmels Alp (1657 m a.s.l.) to the Ofenpass road. At the former car park 2, the route crosses the road and leads back above the road towards Vallun Chafuol. At point 1875, the trail to Grimmels branches off in an easterly direction, while the route to Vallun Chafuol continues south through the woods and after a gentle descent reaches the starting point again.
