Description
Excursionists and connoisseurs, travelers and locals, bikers and hikers love the Alpenrose. It is located 4.5 km above Sta. Maria on the road to the Umbrail Pass. The family-run business offers hearty cuisine, local dishes, garden-fresh salads and homemade cakes. The ingredients come from the region and from own hunting. Delicious meat specialties from the barbeque smoker are available by advance order. On the sun terrace with breathtaking views of the mountains and valley, and in the cozy guest room, it is wonderful to linger. The Alpenrose offers beautiful guest rooms and simple shared rooms. Enjoy a few days in the mountains, or make a stopover on your way through.

Public Transport
With the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Landquart/Prättigau or from the Upper Engadin) hourly to Zernez station.
Continue by PostBus (from Zernez or Mals) hourly to PostBus stop Sta. Maria, posta.
Change to PostBus direction Umbrail to PostBus stop Plattatschas. (only in summer)
Directions
- From the north: via Landquart - Klosters by car transport through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains). From Zernez on the H28 into Val Müstair as far as Sta. Maria (50 minutes drive from Vereina south portal) and from Sta. Maria in the direction of Umbrail as far as Plattatschas.
- From the east: via Reschenpass (Nauders) on the SS40 to Mals. From Mals on the SS41 to the Swiss border to Müstair. From Müstair on the H28 to Sta. Maria and further in the direction of Umbrail to Plattatschas.
